NORTHPORT, NY – January 28, 2002 – Quantum Art, a leading provider of content management and e-business solutions, today released the latest version of its easy-to-use Content Management software, Q-Publishing 6.0.
The release of Q-Publishing 6.0 signifies a move from Coldfusion to ASP technology, and a corresponding increase in Web Services support and functionality.
“Q-Publishing 6.0 represents a significant increase in functionality for our customers, and a decrease in Total Cost of Ownership. With a move to ASP technology, our customers will benefit from the sizable investments being made in the back-end technologies of ASP, IIS and MS SQL. Meanwhile on the front end, Quantum Art can continue to focus on providing the most affordable, easy-to-implement, easy-to-use Content Management software possible. The fact that Q-Publishing 6.0 now provides all the core features found in much more expensive enterprise solutions, for a fraction of the cost, stands as testimony to our philosophy - and to our commitment,” commented Eugene Nikiforov, Quantum Art President and CEO.
With a focus on administrative control, simplified tools and an extensible framework, notable areas of enhanced functionality in this version of Q-Publishing include:
Flexible Workflow Control
Version 6.0 introduces the power of role-based, configurable workflows and notifications, enhanced by highly granular user and group access controls. A graphical layout environment provides at-a-glance planning of organizational processes. Using the granular controls and intuitive environment in tandem, administrators can define infinite content states and user roles, for quickly creating as simple - or complex - a workflow as needs dictate.
Modular, Reusable Objects
The changeover of underlying technologies in Q-Publishing 6.0 marks a move to a true object-oriented framework. Now completely separated from content, HTML and other code form encapsulated and objectified components, providing powerful, reusable building blocks. A centralized repository holds these user-created components, providing easy access to those with sufficient access rights.
Web Services Extensibility
Q-Publishing 6.0 provides integration and interoperability through several Web Services technologies and standards, including .NET, SOAP and XML. At the database level, .Net and SQL-XML support within SQL Server 2000, mean stored procedures and XML can be exposed as Web Services via SOAP. At the application level, COM support provides accessibility to enterprise applications such as SAP, BAAN and Verisign.
With the inclusion of these and other powerful features, Q-Publishing 6.0 offers organizations enterprise-class functionality at a small business price.
