Quantum Art Releases QP7.Enterprise
Quantum Art Releases QP7.Enterprise - Looks Beyond Traditional Content Management
San Francisco, CA – January 31, 2005 – Quantum Art, a provider of next-generation content management solutions, announced the release of its long-awaited QP7.Framework, a content application server that addresses the growing enterprise need to quickly launch and easily manage dynamic websites.
QP7.Framework delivers a new approach to creating and maintaining an online presence, by offering business users the ability to graphically create and set up functional components, develop custom content entry interfaces, and set up advanced rules for publishing content.
From the architectural perspective, the software uses an object-oriented templating model, which provides superior flexibility to most other approaches and facilitates code reuse. The core presentation template and a library of template objects may be created using standard HTML-editing tools or using QP7’s online interfaces.
Quantum Art released the first three solutions in the QP7.Framework, including:
- QP7.Enterprise, targeted at corporate users;
- QP7.Multisite, delivering features for deploying the solution as a hosted service; and
- QP7.GOV, underlining Quantum Art’s commitment to the government content management space.
Before the end of the second quarter of 2005, Quantum Art plans on launching additional components of the QP7.Framework, including solutions for information delivery and search engine optimization of dynamically created websites.
“QP7.Framework is a result of several years of architecting, developing, and testing an optimal solution for the delivery of structured information to the web,” said Edward Shenderovich, Quantum Art’s President and CEO. “We have listened carefully to our customers, looked at the trends, and tried to express market needs in a solution that will address enterprise content management problems over the next several years.”
“We learned a lot from working with public sector customers,” Shenderovich added, “especially on the workflow and usability side, and I think Quantum Art’s engineers have succeeded in developing a winning solution that goes beyond content management. Having demonstrated and presented QP7.Enterpise to several partners and customers as a content application server, we are very pleased with their reaction and look forward to a surge in adoption of the solution.”
The solution is offered to current Quantum Art customers as an upgrade to Q-Publishing 6, originally released two years ago. Quantum Art continues to support its view that content management solutions must facilitate openness and free information exchange, and just like previous releases, the QP7.Framework does not carry any seat license costs.
In comparison to the previous version of the software, QP7.Enterprise delivers several key technological innovations:
- OnScreen Technology -- Allows users to manage dynamic content through a graphical interface, accelerating the time it takes to make changes and deliver them online.
- Advanced Database Structuring – Through the addition of “virtual contents”, users are able to link multiple content types and query third-party and outside tools and databases for content.
- Full-Text Search – Enhances prior search functionality with delivering a full-text search engine within QP7 for immediate access to any solutions. Search fully respects content access permissions to ensure information security and enforce workflows.
- Enhanced Workflow Engine – QP7 features an updated workflow, delivering a graphical interface to create and manage workflows through centralized console. With the new workflow engine, administrators can assign workflows to multiple content types and individual entries.
- Style and Code Libraries – Developers have an ability to create and easily manage libraries of code snippets and styles that can be reused across the solution. Users can have access to the library through a WYSIWYG interface and visually add snippets of code to their posts.
Quantum Art offers QP7.Framework both as licensed software and as a hosted service directly and through its growing partner network.
